Marie & Joachim leave hospital with their new little prince

Princess Marie and Prince Joachim have left hospital with their new born son, who slept through his first meeting with the media and members of the public who had turned up to greet Denmark's new prince. Princess Marie looked happy and well as she carried her new baby wrapped in a knitted baby-hoodie. Both Marie and Joachim were beaming with happiness as they passed through the Rigshospitalet foyer accompanied by Marie's father Alain Cavallier, a lady-in-waiting and the couple's Chamberlain, Kurt Bache. Marie said she was well and that it had been fantastic. When asked about the little prince's name, Princess Marie said "it's a secret" as they walked fairly quickly through the foyer, which had been decorated with balloons by staff at the hospital. In a short 5 minute departure (by royal standards), Marie also said the baby will grow up bi-lingual (French and Danish) and Joachim added "just like Nikolai and Felix". Joachim praised Marie and said just how much she was beaming spoke for itself, and that "everything was just as it should be" where Marie was concerned. Prince Joachim installed the baby in his safety capsule, with Marie next to him in the back seat of the car, before driving away to their apartment at Amalienborg Palace. Prince Joachim refused to say when they will make the journey from Amalienborg to Møgeltønder and Schackenborg Castle in Southern Jutland, but it is thought to be in a few days.
