Joachim, Marie, Nikolai & Felix skiing in Switzerland

Prince Joachim and his fiancée Marie Cavallier have been holidaying in Switzerland with Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix this last week. Joachim and the boys picked up Marie at Copenhagen Airport before they set out for the chalet of Marie's mother and step-father, Françoise and Christian Grassiot, in Bretaye. The 2,000 metre pistes of Bretaye are in the south-west region of Chablais in Switzerland. There is an interview to come from this week's Billed Bladet, but since the wedding is 3 months away, plans are no doubt well advanced. It seems Gråsten Palace will be used as part of the celebrations and the previously reported public concert to be held in Copenhagen's Town Hall Square is now cancelled because the organiser has been criticised and is now unwilling to go ahead.

Meanwhile, in anticipation of the wedding of Joachim and Marie, the Tønder Municipality has created a logo for the wedding to be held on 24 May 2008 at the Møgeltønder Church. Designed by Conny Paugan Jæger, it is intended the logo will be free for use to signify and draw attention to the wedding. It has the official stamp of approval from the Danish Royal Family as an unofficial wedding logo.
