Marie has a new ring.....

TV2 is reporting (following Se & Hør) that Prince Joachim has given Marie a gift of a ring from Georg Jensen - but it is not an engagement ring. Neverthless, it is another sign of the deepening of the relationship.

Joachim gave Marie a ring worth 25.000 DKK

When Marie Cavallier went to the wedding anniversary party at Tivoli on the recent Great Day of Prayer Holiday (Store Bededags-ferien) with Prince Joachim many could not help noticing that the love struck French mademoiselle flashed a ring that clearly hadn’t been a prize in one of the tombolas in the old garden.

The weekly magazine Se & Hør has revealed that the ring is from the Fusion range and that at the beginning of March 'the Schackenborg Prince' dropped into Georg Jensen in Copenhagen city and put 25.000 DKK on the counter for the exclusive piece of jewelry.

“He just went into the store and collected the ring. He said "that’s nice" and the shop assistant told a little about it.”

At Georg Jensen they will not directly confirm the royal deal, but do admit that the ring in question absolutely resembles their Fusion ring.

“That type of ring is incidentally practically never bought as an engagement ring, it is more like a "we are more than friends ring”, explains a PR associate from Georg Jensen. (thanks for the translation Muhler!)

The ring in question (from different angles) and the couple at the Tivoli party:

Correction: we posted a photo of the wrong Georg Jensen ring. The correct one is now above, designed by Nina Koppel in 18 carat red gold, yellow gold and white gold and white gold with diamonds (total 0.16 ct) Georg Jensen Fusion Rings
Possibly the most popular piece of Georg Jensen Jewellery, these one to four piece rings come with a variety of options from the colour of the gold to the inclusion of Diamonds. Up to all four parts can be worn at once, but each section can be seperated and worn seperately to give whatever effect is desired.

And from the airport to lunch and then the day after the Tivoli party Joachim went by bicycle from Amalienborg to Tivoli to collect his car:

Friends at the party, which illustrates how all the friends are integrated together as a friendship group with both Joachim and Alexandra. Some went to Alexandra's wedding and some have been spending time with Joachim and Marie and getting to know her and vice versa. 1) Michael and Benedicte Darsberg, the anniversary couple, 2) an old high school girlfriend of Joachim's, Helene Bjerg-Pedersen and partner Ole Raft, 3)Oscar and BrittDavidsen Siesbye, 4) Christian Scherfig and girlfrind Agnete Arno, 5) Simon and Maria Bast, 6) Peter and Henriette Steenstrup, 7) Alexandra and Martin Jørgensen.
