Happy New Year!

From where it began for Frederik and Mary, happy 2007!

We wish all our readers a very happy New Year! This is the first anniversary of our blog and we would like to say a big thank you to our many readers worldwide. It is your support which allows us to continue. There is no point doing so much work on our blog unless we have readers! So thanks to our readers - your number has grown steadily through the year and this has been a great encouragement to us.

Also, and no less importantly, we would like to thank the many friends of the blog who send us material to post and give practical support in many ways. We would like to say a special thank you to Muhler, Thor, gudinde, jema, potter, Elizabeth, Summer, Benedikte, Lasse, Mayflower, Lotte Haldrup, commoner and cph.

Happy 2007 to one and all!

DRWs review: Christian in 2006

Christian's first official duty of the year was his christening!

In his first year he has been with his parents on many outings, friends' christenings, shopping, walking and acompanying his mother to 'work'. Christian went with his parents on trips overseas to Germany, Norway, St Petersberg, the United States and Australia.

Christian made a balcony appearance at the Queen's birthday in April. He will need to get used to that!

Then there was a trip on the Dannebrog from Copenhagen to Bornholm where his appearance on deck on arrival delighted onlookers.

In the family photocall at GrĂ¥sten, he was one of many of the royal children, but his destiny is like none of the others:

Happy? hmm, maybe not so much that day. In Newport, RI, USA

Christian celebrated his 1st birthday - and so did we!

Christian had his first introduction to Australia during a short vistit at the end of November. It was a case of lots of people to see and lots of places to go!

Then there was lots of private stuff in between and Frederik and Mary shared a little of it at the beginning of the northern summer with their own photos of their little one:

The end of the year saw Christian joining the family for a Christmas photo with three generations of the descendants of Frederik IX. He had been wounded while mastering the art of balancing as he learns to walk.

DRWs review: Frederik & Mary together in 2006

Frederik and Mary show their teamwork both solo and together. They have made many appearances together in Denmark this year and have also been to Germany, Luxembourg and St Petersberg.
