Queen Margrethe in Rome


May 18, 2006 Queen Margrethe of Denmark has inaugurated an exhibition about the 19th century Danish painters in Rome. May 18, 2006.






May 19, 2006 Pope Benedict XVI meets with Danish Queen Margrethe at the Vatican. The queen met with the pontiff as part of her May 17-19 trip to Rome and Florence where the she is attending celebrations marking 50 years of a Danish cultural institute in the Italian capital and opening an exhibit of 19th century Danish paintings.





Queen Margrethe gave Pope Benedict a gift of the catalogue of the art exhibit at the Stibbert Museum in Florence which includes her own works and their meeting together was in English according to Danish news sources.
